Em Manor Hotel, Cotabato City – With the intention of strengthening the gender mainstreaming in BARMM, the Bangsamoro Women Commission (BWC) conducted the Gender and Development Budget Forum on March 23, 2023, at Diamond Hall, Em Manor Hotel. The activity aimed to orient the participants on the guidelines on the preparation of the GAD plan and budget (GPB) and GAD accomplishment report (AR) and on the revised guidelines on the audit of GAD funds. The goal of the activity was not only to guarantee that the GPBs of the MOAs were endorsed, but also to go beyond compliance and actually identify gender concerns in the region and the accompanying interventions.

The activity was undertaken in collaboration with the Commission on Audit and was funded by the European Union under the SUBATRA Justice and Society Project in collaboration with Cooperacion Espaniola. Furthermore, Budget Officers, Planning Officers, and Accountants from the 32 Ministries, Offices, and Agencies identified during the sessions, including the associated offices of the Office of the Chief Minister (OCM), took part in the activity.
