Davao City – The Bangsamoro Women Commission-BARMM headed by BTA Parliament Member Hadja Bainon Karon Conducted a 2-day Values Enhancement and Crafting of Gender and Cultural Sensitivity Training for BARMM on April 24-25, 2019 at Casa Leticia Hotel, Davao City with the technical assistance of the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Peace Process (OPAPP) thru Ms. Helen Rojas. The objectives of the said training are to equip the participants with the basic Knowledge, Understanding and appreciation of gender and cultural sensitivity concepts and principles through assisting participants in crafting a generic and contextualized training outline on Gender and Cultural Sensitivity Training.

The BWC-BARMM invited Resource Speakers who can help in crafting Gender Cultural Sensitivity with 5 (five) different sessions. On the first day, the first session discussed by Ms. Rosie T. Balambag, Educator, Principal of the Al-Azharie Academy the topic on Women in Islam based on the Role and and rights to situate women in Islam. The second session discussed by Ustadza Jihan Batiting, Secretary Tarbiyah National Commission about Gender Equality/Equity in Islam to understand gender equality and equity in Islam. The third session discussed by Ustadza Albaya Badrudin about Enhancing the Role of Women: Values Formation in the workplace to know what values are needed/should be developed to enhance the role of women in the workplace. The 4th session discussed by NAP-WPS Head Secretariat Ms. Helen Rojas about Gender Conflict Sensitivy National Run. The Fifth Session discussed by MOSEP Executive Director Hadja Mariam K. Ali about Gender and Cultural Sensitivity Training in the context of BARMM to provide space an overview of how GST should run by the BARMM Government.
