The State of the Bangsamoro Women Address activity was held to provide an overview of the current status and challenges faced by women in the Bangsamoro region. This activity aimed to shed light on the significant contributions of women in peace’ building efforts and highlighting the need for their empowerment in decision-making processes. The Bangsamoro Women Commission spearheaded the Kick Off ceremony of the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women by holding the 5th State of the Bangsamoro Women Address activity on November 28, 2023, at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex, BGC, BARMM.

During the address, various issues were discussed, including sensitive topics such as gender equality, women’s empowerment, and the impact of cultural and religious practices on women’s rights. Special attention was given to the role of women in peacebuilding and conflict resolution, with an emphasis on the need for their meaningful participation in these processes.

The Commission extends its appreciation to all the participants, especially the guests and women leaders and representatives from different sectors, who shared their experiences and insights beside providing their support and commitment in recognizing and valuing women’s contributions to peace, as well as addressing the barriers and challenges they face in achieving equality.
