Cotabato City – The Bangsamoro Women Commission successfully culminated the observance of the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women by organizing a series of unveiling of impactful guidelines and policies aimed at eliminating gender-based violence in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) with support from NonViolent Peaceforce (NP), the UK Government through the United Nations Development Fund, United Nations Population Fund(UNFPA) and other BARMM Government agencies on December 10, 2023, at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex, Cotabato City.
The event brought together various stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, women’s rights advocates, and community members, to raise awareness about the issues of violence against women.
During the event, several significant initiatives were launched, including the Regional PNP Guidance Note for Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention and Response, and the BARMM CP-GBV Referral Pathway. , the activity also featured the unveiling of the research outputs from 2022-2023 of the Bangsamoro Women Commission’s (BWC) Policy Research. Moreover, the program also featured a momentous Memorandum of Agreement Signing with the members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, emphasizing the collaborative efforts in addressing and preventing gender-based violence in the region.
