Gender and Development is a crucial field of study that highlights the connections between gender and development initiatives, taking into account feminist perspectives. This field addresses various issues such as health and education, decision-making and leadership, peace-building, violence against women, and economic empowerment of women. The BARMM government recognizes the importance of integrating gender and development in its policies and programs to ensure that women’s rights and gender equality are promoted at all levels.
The BWC is committed to incorporating this perspective into the BARMM ministries, offices, and agencies to effectively mainstream gender and development in their respective areas of work. Hence, a Gender and Development Module is being developed to provide training and guidance on integrating gender equality principles into policy development, program implementation, and monitoring and evaluation processes.
The module aims to equip BARMM MOAs with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively formulate their programs, projects, and activities through a gender lens. Leveling session for the GAD Module was conducted in Cotabato City to ensure that the Technical Team understands the content and objectives of the module.
