General Santos City – The Technical Working Group of the Commission underwent a four-day training Workshop on Policy Research, Formulation, and Procedures on May 22–25, 2022 | 21-24 Shawwal 1443 at London Beach Resort of this city. The activity was facilitated by the Director of the Policy Research and Legal Services (PRLS) of the Bangsamoro Parliament Dr. Nassef Manabilang Adiong together with his team of experts.
BWC Commissioners from the 5 Provinces of the BARMM headed by the Commission’s Chairperson MP Bainon Guiabar Karon took part in the activity to personally impart their best practices and learnings from their years of experience. “The Commission is committed to translating the Commission’s policies and programs more accessible to laypeople and policymakers, the BWC being the primary policy-making, coordinating, and monitoring body of women, Gender And Development in BARMM is working towards capacitating its employees to smoothly to become the premier policy-making agency on Gender and Development (GAD).” – MP Karon stated during her welcome speech.
One of the goals of the activity is to craft gender-responsive policies, resolutions, and guidelines that may be disseminated and recommended for legislation and improve the implementation of GAD–related (Gender and Development) programs in all levels of governance and government operations in the Bangsamoro Region.
All of the participants were given the chance to brainstorm on the inclusion of solutions to their respective areas of issues and concerns. These drafts of policy issues were scrutinized and received recommendations from the facilitators who also served as the panel of critics during the en banc session.
