General Santos City – ” To create a module that will serve as a reference in delivering a substantial message to the communities in support of the Commission’s mandates and the BARMM government’s gear toward moral government” – this is what in the minds of all the experts from academe and the field of Islamic Education from different lines of agencies in the BARMM government (Bangsamoro Darul Iftah – BDI, Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education MBHTE – MADARIS, Development Academy of the Bangsamoro – DAB, and Cotabato State University – CSU) during the recently concluded activity entitled Tarbiyah Module Writeshop: Nurturing Islamic Values towards Peace and Development held on July 18-22, 2022 at Venue 88, General Santos City.

The product of the series of meetings which aimed to formulate a mechanism to leverage the way of teaching Islamic values brought each of the representatives from MBHTE-Madaris, BDI, CSU, and BWC Women Tarbiyah Council together again who have untiringly and passionately deliberated on which topics are suitable not only for the Ministries, Offices, and Agencies in the BARMM region but most especially the target communities down to the grassroots level in the BARMM region and its outside territories.

BWC Chairperson MP Bainon Guiabar Karon uplifted the morale of the authors by encouraging them to pour in everything they can as this is the right opportunity to support the Bangsamoro government. “The goal is, that will be used to educate and see a change in the values and behaviors, mindset, and strengthened relations and faith. Developing this information, education, and communication materials as an effective strategy, and platform for educating our constituents through different communication channels is very significant.”, she said in her remarks
The core members of the group unanimously concurred with the following contents of the module: Aqidah Islamiah (Islamic Creed), Ahkam Shari’a (Islamic Rulings), Akhlaq (Morality), and Seerah (prophetic biography). This activity was supported by the Commission’s development partners United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and UK Government-British Embassy Manila.
