Quezon City – The Commission, in collaboration with Miriam College – Women and Gender Institute (MC-WAGI), conducted a GAD (Gender and Development) Validation Workshop for its Technical staff and members on July 15-16, 2024, at Park Inn by Radisson, EDSA, Quezon City. The two-day activity examined the current GAD Strategic Framework (GADSF) and GAD Strategic Plan (GADSP) of the Commission priorities and the overall goals of the Bangsamoro region.

To ensure a comprehensive and effective review and alignment of the GADSF and GADSP, the following objectives were set: (1) Enhance the understanding of participants regarding the importance of gender mainstreaming and the implementation of the GAD agenda. (2) Review the draft GADSF and GADSP to identify gaps, inconsistencies, or areas needing improvement. (3) Validate that the GAD agenda aligns with the BWC’s current and future priorities and the overall goals of the Bangsamoro region.

The activity is crucial for empowering women and attaining gender equality in the Bangsamoro region.
